ILIAS learning management system

ILIAS is an open-source learning platform for creating and distributing learning content (for eLearning) online. The system also allows communication and collaboration between teachers and learners, tests and evaluations as well as didactic structuring of complete courses.
ILIAS is a library-oriented system allowing to provide learning and exercise materials in all areas of the platform. The content can be made accessible to non-registered users as well. It is also possible to implement an online shop to market learning content.
ILIAS is the German abbreviation for Integriertes Lern-, Informations- und Arbeitskooperations System (Integrated Learning, Information and Work Cooperation System).

Moodle learning management system

Moodle is also an open-source learning platform supporting cooperative teaching and learning methods. With over 50,000 installations in over 200 countries registered on the project's web site, Moodle is a very popular learning management system. The users are public institutions of education such as schools and universities as well as private education providers.
Unlike ILIAS, Moodle is a course-oriented system with virtual class rooms in which learners can access the respective course materials.
Moodle is the abbreviation for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment.
